Behind the artisanal cakes and the studio of Say It With a Cake is Mona Tähtinen: a cake artist, food stylist, and photographer. Founded in Helsinki in 2014, the studio began as a playful exploration in a home kitchen and soon grew into a deep passion for cake artistry, baking, food, and entrepreneurship.

Mona approaches both cakes and photography through stories and atmosphere. Her work is shaped by the interplay of techniques and textures, as well as the natural movement and transformation of materials. She seeks to play with contrasts and to find a sense of balance and flow that brings each creation to life. Every piece is an authentic interpretation of the client’s vision and story.

Mona has also published two books: Queen of Cakes – Gluten-Free Baking and Artistry, and All Things Sweet – Recipes for homemade Sweets and Confections, co-authored with Jinna Lappalainen. Explore the books here.
